Eleni Gyparakis of HeplerBroom LLC in Chicago is the 2026 recipient of the Illinois Defense Counsel (IDC) Rising Star Award.

In recognizing Ms. Gyparakis, IDC President R. Mark Cosimini commented “IDC offers an incredible number of opportunities to its members, especially younger members. Eleni has taken advantage of every opportunity available to her. In addition to being involved in committee leadership, she has been involved with seminars as a speaker and moderator, and she was a crucial component of our deposition academy. We expect great things from Eleni, and she is most deserving of the Rising Star Award.”

Eleni Gyparakis is an associate with HeplerBroom LLC in Chicago, where she focuses her practice on defending medical, dental, and long-term care providers in professional liability and medical negligence litigation. Recognized for her ability to simplify complex medical issues for judges and juries, she has developed a strong reputation for thoughtful advocacy and dedication to her clients, particularly in matters involving neuroanatomy and neuralgia.

Before joining HeplerBroom, Eleni gained experience in personal injury, employment liability, and appellate litigation. She is actively involved in the defense community, serving as Co-Chair of the IDC Practice Development Committee and on the Board of Directors of the Chicagoland Healthcare Risk Management Society, where she was named Rookie of the Year in 2024. The IDC Rising Star Award recognizes her professional achievements, leadership potential, and growing impact on the defense bar and the Illinois Defense Counsel.
