Untress L. “Trez” Quinn of Armstrong Teasdale LLP in Edwardsville was honored with the IDC 2022 Distinguished Member Award. The award was presented during the organization’s Annual Meeting, held June 24, 2022. “Trez Quinn has been essential at advancing the IDC Diversity and Inclusion efforts. Mr. Quinn insured that even during COVID the Illinois Defense Counsel did not waiver in the strategy to promote an organization committed to serving all member of the defense bar. IDC and the legal profession are fortunate to have such a dedicate advocate which is why he is being recognized by the Distinguished Member Award,” said IDC President Laura Beasley. Mr. Quinn commented: “I am humbled and honored to receive such a recognition. In order to make change one cannot sit back idle or satisfied. You have to put your words and beliefs into action. I believe I have a responsibility and obligation not only to my family, myself, and personal community, but also to my professional community, to do my part to make circumstances better for all. I understand there were those who came before me who did just that, and I stand on their shoulders. Now it’s my turn to fulfill my obligation.” Untress L. “Trez” Quinn is a partner and seasoned trial lawyer at Armstrong Teasdale, focusing his practice on the defense of medical malpractice and other catastrophic loss lawsuits. He has defended multiple complex litigation cases in both state and federal courts involving civil rights, product liability, medical malpractice and wrongful death claims. He serves as the Diversity Committee Chair for the Illinois Defense Counsel and has been recognized by Leading LawyersSM, National Black Lawyers Top 100, and received the NAACP’s 54th Freedom Fund Awards for Excellence in Law.
