Willis R. Tribler is a name familiar to nearly every active IDC member. Mr. Tribler has been a valued IDC member for nearly four decades. A founding member of the Chicago firm, Tribler Orpett & Meyer, P.C., he concentrates his practice on professional liability and insurance coverage defense.
An IDC member since the 1970’s, Mr. Tribler has provided "sweat equity” working on numerous Committees. He served as IDC President for 1984-1985. He worked to reorganize the IDC committee framework to emphasize substantive law areas. He pushed for improvements to our newsletter, and so began the evolutionary process which resulted in the creation of our nationally respected publication, the IDC Quarterly.
Mr. Tribler has also spoken many times on substantive topics at the IDC seminars. A prolific writer, he has also contributed numerous articles to our publications, and has authored amicus briefs.
As one fellow member noted when nominating Willis R. Tribler as a 2009 Distinguished Member, when it comes to contributions to the IDC, "You name it, Bill has not only done it, he has done it extremely well.”
