In 1964, a small but determined group of Illinois
attorneys founded the Illinois Association of Defense Trial Counsel, now the Illinois Defense Counsel (IDC). Its
purpose was to provide support and professional contacts for attorneys
practicing the defense of civil cases and workers’ compensation claims in
Illinois.
Since that time, the IDC has grown to become an
organization boasting nearly 600 members across the state. The IDC is recognized as one of the
most active and successful state organizations for defense attorneys in the
nation.
In 2024, the IDC is celebrating its 60th
Anniversary. In honor of this very important milestone, a Gala Celebration will
be held on the evening of Friday, June 28, 2024, at Cafe Brauer at Lincoln Park Zoo, Chicago. This will be a formal "black tie” event, and will include dinner and dancing. Registration
