Finally, the Town Hall meeting will close with a robust discussion of potential responses bar organizations can make to the Illinois Supreme Court regarding the Task Force recommendations. Panelists | Terry Fox of Flaherty & Youngerman, P.C. in Chicago has over 25 years of experience litigating and resolving disputes in civil justice arenas including state and federal trial and appellate courts throughout Illinois. He has also represented clients in a wide variety of administrative tribunals, from the EEOC and Illinois Department of Human Rights/Civil Rights Commission to Municipal Zoning Boards of Appeals and Planning Commissions. His practice is primarily focused on employment law claims and disputes involving sex, race, national origin, age, disability FMLA and other alleged discrimination, as well as overtime, wage and hour, and ICE investigations. Mr. Fox has organized fund raising for child welfare organizations, served on various non-profit boards including Big Brothers/Big Sisters and homeless organizations. He is a 1990 graduate from the University of Iowa College of Law and prior thereto obtained his BS in Political Science with Honors from the Iowa State University of Science and Technology.

Thies of Webber & Thies, P.C. in Chicago served as a member of the CBA/CBF Task Force on the Sustainable Practice of Law and is a past president of the Illinois State Bar Association. Mr. Thies concentrates his practice in the areas of business representation, litigation, real estate, alternative dispute resolution, alternative energy, employment, and insurance. He has a broad range of experience, which includes the litigation of matters throughout the state of Illinois, from trial courts to the Illinois Supreme Court. Besides practicing before federal and state courts, Mr. Thies also practices before a number of administrative bodies including the Illinois Human Rights Commission, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the National Labor Relations Board, and similar labor/management forums. He has also counseled clients in labor negotiations. Mr. Thies has also previously acted as a Special Assistant Illinois Attorney General. |
