2012
Volunteer of the Year Award Recipient

Nicole D. Milos, a partner with the Chicago law firm of Cremer, Spina, Shaughnessy, Jansen & Siegert, LLC, has been named the IDC Volunteer of the Year. Milos was recognized for her many outstanding contributions including serving on the Board of Directors, serving on the Committee Structure Initiative (CSI), serving as chair of the Tort Law Committee, and helping to guide the creation of the IDC’s new publication, the Survey of Law.

IDC Executive Director Sandra J. Wulf said Milos is the definition of volunteerism. "Anytime I needed help, I knew I could call her with whatever needed to be done. She happily jumped right in and got it done. Nicole is the kind of volunteer you hope to have, someone who brings an enthusiasm and has a sense of excitement about being involved. She is just an amazing all around volunteer.”

Milos says her proudest achievement is the inaugural publication of the Survey of Law. "It was tremendous to see the cooperation between the individual authors, the guidance and editing assistance from Sandra Wulf, it was such a collaborative effort by the members of the IDC. The result looks wonderful, and it has been so well received by law firms and individual attorneys. We started a publication that is providing vital information to attorneys. I think it is going to continue for many years and stand as a legacy for the IDC.”

Milos concentrates her practice in the areas of General Tort Litigation, Premises Liability, Product Liability, Commercial Litigation actions, Construction Litigation, Employers’ Liability, Professional Liability, Insurance Coverage claims and Civil Appeals. She is a graduate of John Marshall Law School and is currently completing an L.L.M. degree in Information Technology and Privacy Law at the John Marshall Law School. She was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 2001 and is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court, Northern District of Illinois and the U.S. District Court, Northern District of Indiana.
