President's Award Recipients

The 2012 IDC President’s Award winner is Jennifer B. Groszek, an attorney with Resolute Management, Inc. – Midwest Division. President Anne Oldenburg selected Groszek for the award, which honors a member who has demonstrated outstanding service to the President and to the IDC.

President Oldenburg said Groszek is a remarkable member. "Jennifer is a professional and driven young woman who has the ability to achieve goals seemingly without compromise to her personal life and career. She is the first to volunteer for a new endeavor and then rises to the top as the leader of the project insuring completion and achievement of goals. From her first days in the Young Lawyers Division (YLD) Jennifer set out to reinvigorate the young members. She has mentored those behind her to insure the continued success and high level of activity of that group. Jennifer is a devoted wife and mother. She is the perfect example of a young woman who has achieved balance in her life.”

Groszek distinguished herself early in her IDC membership, when she reinvigorated the YLD, adding new members, and creating a blueprint for community involvement. For those achievements she was recognized with the Rising Star award in 2008. Four years later, Groszek is now a member of the IDC Board of Directors. She has been a featured columnist, and authored articles for the IDC Quarterly. This past year, she was a member of the Committee Structure Initiative (CSI) task force that helped to restructure committees, opening up new paths to leadership for more members.

Groszek says membership in the IDC has had a great impact on her. "Today, when I attend an IDC event I look around and realize that many of my best friends are in the room. I have benefited because of the attorneys from across the state that I have met and have gotten to know. Now, when I meet attorneys, I make it a point to talk about the IDC. It is important to let them know that new ideas and new people are accepted and welcomed at IDC – because that is not always the case with all organizations.”

Groszek concentrates her practice on retaining/managing outside counsel; comprehensive case evaluation; claim management; and trial strategy. She is a graduate of Valparaiso University School of Law.
