Katie Jacobi of HeplerBroom LLC, Chicago, was honored with the 2019 Rising Star Award by 2018-2019 President Bradley C. Nahrstadt.
Ms. Jacobi distinguished herself by serving as an editor for the IDC Quarterly and as Vice Chair of the IDC Young Lawyers Division. IDC President Bradley C. Ms. Jacobi is a partner at the Chicago office of HeplerBroom LLC where her practice focuses primarily on insurance coverage and bad faith litigation in both Missouri and Illinois. Ms. Jacobi is experienced in third-party insurance coverage matters arising under commercial and personal lines policies, including commercial general and umbrella liability policies, commercial and personal auto policies, professional liability and errors and omissions liability policies, and homeowners’ policies. She also has experience in first-party coverage matters, including primarily uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage claims. Her insurance coverage practice also includes evaluating and litigating bad faith coverage matters in Missouri and Illinois.
In addition to insurance coverage analysis and litigation, Ms. Jacobi is an experienced appellate attorney. She has handled numerous appeals in Missouri and Illinois Appellate Courts, the Missouri Supreme Court, and the Eighth Circuit.
Ms. Jacobi is a member of the IDC, where she serves on the IDC Quarterly Editorial Board, as a member of the Insurance Law Committee and Vice Chair of the Young Lawyers Division. Ms. Jacobi is also a member of DRI and the Missouri Organization of Defense Lawyers, with an emphasis in the practice of insurance coverage and bad faith litigation. Ms. Jacobi is a 2015 and 2016 Missouri Kansas Super Lawyers Rising Star in Insurance Coverage. Ms. Jacobi received her J.D. from St. Louis University School of Law, cum laude, and her undergraduate degree from Truman State University, cum laude. She is licensed in Illinois and Missouri.
