Featured Speakers

John Eggum is an attorney with Foran Glennon Palandech Ponzi & Rudloff P.C., where he concentrates his practice on insurance coverage matters and commercial litigation. He represents insurers, TPAs, brokers, and captive managers in professional liability disputes, and also litigates cyber/technology liability claims. Mr. Eggum's law degree was obtained, with distinction, from The University of Iowa College of Law, and following law school, he served as the law clerk to the Hon. Bruce A. Markell in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Nevada, in Las Vegas. Mr. Eggum serves as a Vice-Chair of the IDC Legislative Committee and is a member of the IDC Board of Directors. 

Seth D. Lamden is a partner in Neal, Gerber & Eisenberg LLP’s Insurance Policyholder Practice Group. He concentrates his legal practice on assisting policyholders understand and enforce their rights to insurance coverage and has helped policyholders recover hundreds of millions of dollars in insurance proceeds from a broad array of industries, including construction, utilities, manufacturing, professional services, financial services, and managed care. Seth is a Fellow of the American College of Coverage and Extracontractual Counsel and serves as the Chair of the Self-Insurance and Risk Management Committee, Tort Trial & Insurance Practice Section (TIPS) of the ABA and as a Vice Chair of TIPS’ Insurance Coverage Litigation Committee. He also serves as a member of the IDC’s Board of Directors.

William K. McVisk is a partner at Tressler LLP in Chicago where he focuses his practice on complex insurance coverage litigation, and hospital law and medical liability. He has handled all areas of coverage and bad faith litigation, especially third-party bad faith and coverage litigation involving commercial general liability, professional liability coverages, as well as personal lines coverages such as auto and homeowners coverages. He is President Elect of the Illinois Association of Defense Trial Counsel, the former chair of the IDC Insurance Law Committee, and a member of the DRI Insurance Law Committee. He is a frequent speaker on insurance coverage and insurance litigation issues and has authored several articles on insurance coverage. He has tried declaratory judgment actions in several jurisdictions and has briefed and argued appeals concerning coverage matters in several courts. He is a member of the bars in Illinois and Indiana and is admitted to practice before several federal district and appellate courts. He graduated with honors from Northwestern University Law School in 1977.
